The CBT Clinic: who are we?

The mission of the clinic since it was founded by Dr. Michael Spevack in 1972 has been to educate the public about CBT and to provide quality and affordable services to the community. We are the largest CBT clinic in Montreal, with 15 therapists who treat with dedication, in all, 400 clients per year. We are a private clinic affiliated with the MUHC.

Contact us

To make a referral or for more information about our therapy services, our free lectures, or our treatment groups, please call (514) 485-7772. Our coordinator, Ms. Ronit Milo, is there Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 4:00pm.

Our lecture series

We give a series of eight lectures each year at the Montreal General Hospital that are open to the general public and free, on topics such as depression, panic and agoraphobia, generalized anxiety, OCD, social anxiety, insomnia, various phobias (fear of flying, fear of medical procedures, etc).

These are advertised in the Gazette and on CJAD.

Our treatment options and programs

To help make our services affordable, our fees are on a sliding scale based on family income.

We also offer treatment groups, which in addition to providing all of the benefits of being in a group, also minimize the cost for clients. We have treatment groups for depression, panic and agoraphobia.

We offer appointments in the day, evening, or weekend.

The populations we treat

We treat children, adolescents, and adults, English or French-speaking, who suffer from a wide range of anxiety disorders, from mood disorders or other difficulties like insomnia, anger, overeating, etc.

The psychological problems we are not equipped to treat are drug and alcohol abuse, and anorexia.

We accept mandates from major agencies like the CSST and SAAQ.
